My Little Daredevil

It still amazes me how quickly kids grow up! My little guy, who just yesterday was barely starting to crawl, has become quite the daredevil. (Okay, so it was more like a year ago, but still!) Aaron mastered climbing up and sliding down his slide the "right" way and has moved on to climbing up the slide backwards now. He was so proud of himself when he reached the top and slid down backwards on his tummy.

He has started working on climbing over things, like the side of the laundry basket and his crib (time to lower the mattress again!). He's working on climbing onto couches, chairs and beds, too, but he's still a little bit too short to make it by himself. One more growth spurt and I'm sure that will change. He's also starting to figure out how to open doors and turn on the water. All I have to say is it's a good thing I don't use the oven very often and I'm glad I stay with him when he's in the bath. (I do get to make sure I have a burn kit handy, though.)

I love watching Aaron learn, especially when he turns to me with that proud grin on his face. Boy, does he keep me on my toes!

I have the sweetest boy ever!

Aaron and I have a normal morning routine. He wakes up at the crack before the crack of dawn. We get him a sippy cup of milk and a graham cracker. We go back to my room and I lay down and finish actually waking up while Aaron munches his cracker (yes, getting crumbs everywhere, but I really don't care 'cause I get to just lay there), drinks his milk, climbs on me, lays on top of me, gets up and down from the bed, and explores my room.

This morning was going along like it usually does, but then suddenly Aaron stopped climbing all over me. He scooted up closer to my face, put his hands on each of my cheeks and just looked at me with a bit of a grin on his face. All I could do was smile at him and tell him that I love him so much! How did I get so lucky?!
